This is the stuff that study sweaters are made of.
Remember my post on study sweaters? Here is the first of my “Study Sweaters” series. Or perhaps “Bitchin’ Sweater” series, because sweaters aren’t only for studying. It will be warm, fuzzy, sometimes itchy, and plenty sweaty.  Grammar Police Note:  I ended my title/sentence with a preposition! English Lit Nerd Notes: WOAH, alliteration and rhymes in one...

Last summer, I was learning how to Bogue*. In order to get into the mood, I watched BAPS again for the first time in ages. It’s still good. I mean, weaves, hair sculpture, latex, gold, tooth jewelry? *Montreal’s House of Bogue is a group of dancers, bringing back “Voguing” or a highly stylized modern house dance created in Harlem in the 1960s and brought to...

Study Jams: Because Summer will Come Soon
Baby did a bad thing: distracted herself with youtube videos and searching for things on the internet seabed thus killing, errrr 4 hours? So bad. But I (enough of this third person bullshit) revisited an oldie that I love to this day.  All I can say is: trail effects, psychedelic boogie times, and sparkles. (THIS IS SOME HIGH-TECH SHIT, YOU GUYS!) What the hell more could I...

benfosterbitch asked: If you're uncomfortable with the french vogue spread featuring children, then how do you feel about the magazine vogue bambini? I'm not saying I disagree with your opinion, I'd just like to know what you think about a vogue entirely dedicated to children's fashion? Is that fashion spread any different from what is displayed in bambini?

The Making of Robyn’s ‘Indestructible’ Music Video with EXTRA FOOTAGE from Lucy McRae on Vimeo. This ‘Making Of’ video showcases a project that started over two years ago generating dynamic textiles made from liquid, air and vapor. 1.2 kilometres of transparent plumbing tubing was knitted with fishing wire to skin Robyn’s body. 40 litres of glycerol...

“She herself feels she is like the very stupid man, not only because she couldn’t find her clothes, not only because sometimes other simple things besides getting dressed are also beyond her, but most of all because she often doesn’t know where she is, and particularly concerning this man she doesn’t know where she is.” — From “Once a very Stupid...

So I was looking through this Lanvin ad campaign shot by Inez. [This is Inez on the cover of the gentlewoman.] [This is the ad in question.] So many people were speculating that this was supposed to mark the Zombie 2010 trend, although which trend this is, I don’t know, because Spring 2010 was all about Miu Miu cats. (Maybe The Walking Dead series?) Anyways, I get that she’s...

Clenching is the new Black.
Apparently I stress out in my sleep — so much so that I wake up with jaw pain and a headache? I’ve been doing this for about 3 years now, and I finally caved and got a mouthguard (dentist’s orders). I don’t want jaw surgery, you guys. So many people have been fitted for vampire teeth, and well, I’m nominating the mouthguard as the new trend of 2011. Manrepelling?...

WORN ISSUE 11
The lovely ladies of WORN need to explain just how they manage to top their previous issues. I mean, just look at this cover. I remember the first time I picked up WORN: I was in high school, shopping for my prom dress. I went the vintage route, and stumbled across the issue at MASKARADE — it was casually displayed amongst the old pillbox hats and pearls. I picked it up and read it cover...

TEA TIME > TSHIRT TIME
My review for WORN ISSUE 11 is coming soon (my apologies to the lovely WORNETTES, who have been so damn patient). I swear the review is going up this week. A flu has crept up on me (sly devil) whilst trying to get back into the groove of school (2 weeks ALREADY, and so so behind), and whilst applying for jobs and internships (I’m graduating in 3 months and I’m just tryna stay calm)....

Summer '11 = Baja Sweater Summer
Summer of Chill 2011 (probably not) will hopefully be a summer filled with skateboards, surfing, and BAJA SWEATERS. (Hopefully my internship will welcome some of these things with open arms, and if not, well, I can always change or something.) The recent resort collections will probably sway said boss(es) to appreciate my summer wardrobe and lifestyle?  So many broken bones and concussions...

I recently came across this editorial as well as the mountains of interweb controversy following its release. Bloggers were outraged, saying it was kiddy porn and disgusting. Is this suggestive? Absolutely. BUT, take a moment to reflect here for a second; Carine Roitfeld and Tom Ford collaborated on this editorial. These are people who participate in this fashion culture and by being complicit...
